When you use the Selection Brush in the Mask mode, any area that you paint over will be masked out, i.e., won’t be included in your selection. Elements will place a red film over the area to show that it will be excluded from your selection. The Mask mode is really useful to locate any spots you may have missed and to check how accurate your selection is.
1. Activate the Selection Brush (Shortcut = A). 2. In the Tool Options area, select Mask mode. 3. Paint over the area which you want to be excluded from your selection.
