I enjoy visiting a nearby National Park. I thought the detail of the fences created during the Civil War time period would make for a great B&W. For those folks who might be curious as to a fence overview here's a linkOn1 Photo Raw 2017 was used for all edits: Tone, Color, Details, Lens correction, DC, and finally B&W.

Thank you all for your submissions so far. Sorry I have not commented sooner, but we had family staying for the past 3 weeks and then I got struck down with a viral flu/cold thing these past few days.
Pete, thank you for your submissions and for taking this challenge head on! My favourite out of all of them is the detail of the fences. The conversion really brings out the texture of the wood.
Helen, both of your submission are wonderful, but the conversion of the Logan Utah Temple is really good. The way this conversion shows the different hues of the brickwork is really my favourite part of this.
bryston3bsst's conversion is another great example on what B&W can bring out in the brickwork of a building. The way this building is partly in shadow adds another great interest to the shot.
Again, thank you everyone for participating this month. I hope to upload some more shots myself later this month after our next short trip to Las Vegas.

Today I drove my wife to the dentist and didn't take my camera - oh wait I did take my iPhone. The really bright sun caught my eye on this new building ... Processed in On1 Photo raw 2017: tone, details, DC, finally B&W I removed the garish color enhancements used for the B&W

View up the tower of Christ Church in Esher, Surrey. Taken on quite a nice sunny afternoon but then processed in Silver Efex - selecting Full Dynamic Range (smooth) then fiddled with the Highlight and Shadow protection sliders and added a Lens Falloff 3 vignette - in order to add some drama. farm5.staticflickr.com/4415/37028955550_98464558de_c.jpg

I hope this thread isn't dead...... This is one from my prison. The building has some truly great architecture.

Bob, thanks for joining in; the thread is not dead; the new challenge will be coming up later this week. That prison sure looks like it has a lot to offer for this challenge!
Frank, your barn really looks great; the second photo with all the light patches coming through is very interesting.

I have finally managed to go through my shots from our trip to Las Vegas last week. This is the shopping center inside the Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino, which, as you would expect with a name like this, has a Roman/Italian theme. What attracted me to this was the fact that this is the only curved or spiral escalator I have seen to date! I converted this to Black & White in Lightroom using a preset called "Castle in the Sky"; I tried to find the source again online, but was unsuccessful. I did play around a little with the settings as I wanted to put the spotlight onto the escalator and have the surroundings fade into the background slightly.

York Minster Sorry this is 8 months after the fact, but I got around to processing an image today that I thought was appropriate for this challenge. I used the Detail Enhancer method in Photomatix and then played around with the sliders until I found something I liked. Note: It looks better if you click on the image to open in full view.

There isn't any time limit on any of the black and white challenges. The black and white brings out all of the architectural details.....beautiful!

Sydney,
As Helen said, there is no time limit on these challenges.
I love your processing of this photo, all the intricate detail is brought out wonderfully!
Many years ago we used to live near York, so this brings back fond memories - thank you!
