I think this box of rocks has some electronics intermittent functionality issues.
Here is a bit of History the best I can recall. I got this machine as a gift in Feb 2015 with Win 8.1 installed. I didn't have it very long and it failed, I returned it to the place of purchase for a looksee. They decided the HD had failed and supposedly replaced the computer rather than fix. I got it up and running on it's return and was learning to move around in Win8. I decided shortly thereafter that if I was going to learn a new OS why not go with Linux Mint 17.1. I did all the necessary downloads and gathering of info and put this info on a Flash Drive ready for install. I made a run at installing with long distance help from a Guru friend of mine via e mail. I started running into problems to the point where my friend was perplexed with them. I got it up and running for a short time and down it would go,,,I'd try again and the same story. I finally gave up and once more returned it to them for another look see. I explained that I was installing Linux when all this trouble started happening the second time. We mutually agreed that I must have done something wrong and they got it running with Win 8.1 again and charged me $100 plus. They claimed it it was a software problem(Linux) and not covered under warranty . I agreed and paid the bill. I got it back to my desk and worked with Linux for a while when one day it just up and went south again, saying boot disk could not be found or had failed. I took it back once again and they kept it 10 days. I would keep calling for status and they said they hadn't found anything wrong and wanted to run it for a while. They did so for a couple of more days saying they could not find/solve the problem and for me to come pick it up and see what I could do with it. I then picked it up and tried booting it up thru the Bios as I had done before and I got all the way thru it and it crashed once more but this time I got an error message saying I had removed the Flash Drive to quickly. I guess that meant the computer was still processing something in the Linux Program. I tried it again and it worked fine . I used it for several weeks and then it kicked up it's heels one more time saying boot disk could not be found or had failed. I returned it to the repair shop once again, this time after several days they called and said it was working fine but that they had not done anything to it. I picked it up one more time and true enough it was working but ,,,,,right, you guessed it ,it died again. I sent it back again(getting tired of this) and when I got it back this time it wasn't working and back it went,,,,, this time they had left the HD unplugged. They quickly plugged it in and my wife brought it back, which was yesterday morning . I cranked it up and loaded PSE,LR, 3 or 4 maintenance programs and Google Chrome Tabs which had several programs in tow. I started tweaking things this morning at 4AM and it has crashed 3 times already today. The first time I was moving around in my e mail(black screen popped up of my desktop with Icons & crash),the next time I was on PSE-M Forum(blue screen popped up with text & crash) and the last time thus far today I was drinking a cup of coffee and eating cookies while I stared at the screen thinking(blank blue screen popped up & crash). I am able to get it up and going but certainly am not satisfied. I think as said before there is a MB problem ,,,,,,,,,,,,I will be going for a replacement talk tomorrow( tech/mgr is not there today) either by the place of business or by HP/MicroSoft direct if thats what it takes.
