I get a Notification Alert Mark superimposed on my Profile Tab. When I click on it it says, "xxxxxxxx liked my posting/thread in my photo gallery" or something like that. I guess that's okay if that's what you all want. #1..Is that what was really meant to be and #2.. I can't determine which post "xxxxxxxxx" is referring to. I'm not stirring the pot just trying to follow along the winding road.

If you post something a little more specific than "or something like that", it will be easier to gie you an answer.

Well, #1: I don't know how it's supposed to be, but that's the way it is.  #2: If you click on the link i.e. xxxxx liked your post in the thread Madame's Gallery, you come to the post in question. |

Hi dick, here is the note about that in one of the FAQs:In your profile, under the Notifications tab, you will see a column titled Forum consisting of check boxes. For each type of event that is checked, when one of those types of events are triggered, you'll receive a bubble notification over Profile on the main navigation menu. Click the bubble to see the events. So that is what is happening; you have some of those events checked, and one of them happened. It is a fun way to see some of what is going on with your posts. For example, I quoted you in this reply, so you should get a bubble notification for that (assuming you have quotes checked). I hope that helps. |

I was just curious why it was over Profile and not Messages,,,, I suppose because they are generically part of your profile settings, and are otherwise unrelated. (likes, quotes, etc). |

I was just curious why it was over Profile and not Messages,,,, Messages are specifically for Private Messages between forum members. What you are describing are Notifications, which the forum software puts under your Profile. |
