There may be some additional effect to be had with this. I'm thinking that you may not have had the polarizer adjusted properly. If it were turned correctly with regard to the sun the reflections on the water would have been almost completely eliminated. The polarizer I used years ago with my film cameras had a white mark on the rim that was to be pointed toward the sun for proper alignment. My new one, a B&W, does not have this mark so it requires some experimentation and watching to see just where the correct alignment is. I should have mentioned, this applies to a circular polarizer, not a linear. So maybe my post is moot if in fact you were using a linear.

Not many players for this one it appears..... These columns are pretty cool. They stand in an abandoned prison that was built in 1896.

Tried another one. I was wondering if the conversion might make the vapor trail off of the tail more prominent......but it looks pretty much the same. I do like the way the sky converts. Interesting too how the logo on the rudder didn't covert at all, it just went away.

Thanks, Helen. Actually, I like the color better as well for the same reason. I thought I would try the B&W for this but I think it causes the gantry to sort of blend in and the perspective kind of goes away. But I do like the way the aircraft and the sky converted in the B&W. Sydney.......and exhibition? Your lips to God's ear my friend....don't we all dream of that?

I caught this guy running about 50 feet above the ILS gantry I was standing under. I really like the color version but I thought I would try it in B&W.

I think I converted this one in PE 12. Lightened the underside of the roof a little, increased black levels.

Cemeteries at night don't have much color even though these are conversions. I was a tour guide at the Mansfield Reformatory for 16 years. This was the prison where Shawshank Redemption and Air Force One were filmed. The building was completed in 1896 and really lent itself to some nice, creepy black and white......as seen here. ......and a Calla Lilly. For most conversions I use Elements 14 and start with one of the 5 or 6 default choices, whatever looks best, and then work from there. Making changes as needed to get the effect I want, which is dictated by the initial image. Creepy images are usually harder contrast, whereas the flower above calls for something a little easier. Although I'm not much of a flower shooter.

Clouds is a good theme. Had a pretty sunset after some rain the other day.

I suppose a hole in his wing makes him incomplete......although he doesn't seem to mind much.

I would suggest to you that there are no rules. Crop according to the picture and most importantly what you want. Not all pictures lend themselves to the thirds.
