First I want to thank everyone for taking the time to help me. What a wonderful group of people on this site. French Kiss: although watercolor brushes, not oil, I did buy some as they look like they'd be fun to play around with. I like the watercolor effect very much. Arista Impresso: I'm still thinking about. It is the only one suggested that works on Mac. All the rest are Windows only. Tom: I like the first sunflower picture very much. That is the effect I'm after. Could you possibly tell me the technique you followed? Again, thank you all very much. I don't know what I'd do with out you. Berie

The Baird Manor, build c.1765 and abandoned since 1970. Definitely Temporary. Soon it will be all gone except for maybe the brick fireplace. Someone should definitely salvage that beautiful mantel shelf.

It worked! You're amazing! I don't really understand it but I never would have figured it out without your help (and understanding).
Thanks a million.

I thought that would do it but it didn't. I reset preferences, closed down but on the Canvas Size page the "Canvas Extension Color" changed from white to "Background" but it still comes up transparent. That place seems broken. I can't reset it to a color, and resetting my background color makes no difference. It still opens as transparent.
I do appreciate all the trouble you took to fix this. It was very kind of you.
However, I'm going to open a new page, color it what I want canvas to be, and move the picture onto it, adjust size, and I think I will then be able to apply effects, like drop shadow. It worked once so I'll give it another try today.
Thanks for your patience.

Using PsE 14, Whenever I try to enlarge canvas in white, it comes out transparent. I select background color (white) or white as the color, but it doesn't work. Any work around suggestions appreciated.

Ah! I finally got it. Had a hard time changing Windows to Mac. Finally just clicking around on everything and finally hit it right.
Thank you all for your patience and help. I was about to give up. Adobe is not my favorite company. They could learn a lot from Apple.
Anyway, many thanks.

I'm trying to download the PSE 14 update for $79.99 to my PSE 13.l. Nothing happens. They only offer me the $239.97 version.
Is this because I have only the single version of PSE 13.l and am not a part of the package (CC) etc.?
I presently have on my MacBook Pro OS 10.10.5.
Berie, the perplexed as usual.

Is there anyway to upgrade for the advertised price of $79.99?
I have a Mac Book, OS10.10.5 or is this one of the CC things that you can only get a package. I tried the download but it didn't work.

Thanks Helen. Maybe things will look up soon. I'm sure the fault is mine but I don't have the patience any more. I'm even having trouble sending this.

I'm giving up on my personal gallery as I can't get either PostImage or Cubeupload to work. Too hard. They drive me nuts. (It doesn't take much!

I definitely like the b and w best. However, if I wanted it in color I would crop it down to just the butterflies.
