Thanks Sepiana for this action. It's the first time I ever got one to work. Then I did a Litho on top with a blending mode (forgot which one).

I'm wondering what filter you used when you started to make the Pencil Sketch action.
Was it "find edges", Ink outlines, graphic pen, etc.
Thanks, a curious Berie.

How kind of you Clive to write out all the instructions. Very, very thoughtful. Now I have something to play with. (I never knew you could color a shadow but I've found a video I'll try.)
I love hearing about all you walks and adventures in seeking subjects. Such a beautiful part of the world you live in. i hope the virus hasn't impinged on your ideal life too much.
Thanks again for your kindness. Berie

Nice pictures and I like the way you framed them and presented it. I’m trying to copy that technique. Any suggestion

Thanks Helen. With a little tweaking and experimenting I got it to work. What would I do without you!

Can someone please tell me how to download a picture from someone's facebook to LR so LR will see it and editing will be possible?
Thanks

Hi Tony. It took me awhile to figure out that "tonyb" was the same person as Tony Britton. I've admired your wonderful work for years and used your Hints & Tips whenever I needed a little boost. I'm so pleased that you liked my Sugar Shack picture, which is one of my favorites. Thank you and I look forward to your future posts and pictures. It's been said many times but it's true that it's the heart and brains that make good pictures and not the size of your wallet. What you do with the Canon SX50 (which is considered a "point and shoot" camera), proves it. Your pictures are amazing.

Welcome to the forum! I am sure you will like it here. You will find many friendly people who are willing to help. Kind regards Chris PS I also have the Canon SX50 and am very happy with it. If you don't like technical stuff and prefer to keep it on auto, that's fine. But I suggest you set it to "P" programme mode and also use raw + jpg. You will get much better results if you learn how to process the raw files. Chris, I also use P program mode on my Canon SX50 and keep the IOS at -1 so I get more detail in the light parts. Could you explain more what you do to use "raw + jpg"? Thanks, Berie

SleeveTugger, Welcome,
I was surprised to see that you use a Canon SX50hs. Awhile back I sold all my old cameras and all the add on lenses and bought an SX50. I am very pleased with it. So simple but it is just the right amount of adjustments I can easily handle. Most all the pictures in my gallery (Berengaria) were taken with that camera. Check them out.
Tony Britton.smugmug.com/other/Canon-sx50-HS-hints-tips has a web page that gives some very helpful hints on how he uses it.
For editing I use mostly Lightroom, Photos shop Elements and Impressions 2.
And the folks here at PSE & M are very helpful. I'd be lost without them.
Looking forward to seeing your work.

I remember having a large wooden spool with nails in the end for making braids.
