Maybe it has something to do with the message at the top about the board structure undergoing changes?

I'm not sure we made a public declaration about it. It was a subject of much discussion amongst the admins, and we decided that since this was a new forum, we would start everyone off fresh. Over at EV one member requested it HERE and the response was HERE. Don't think it came up for discussion again. Bayla

I think the results should be hidden until you have voted. I don't think it matters on a poll like this - you are hardly going to be influenced to click on Lightroom for instance if you never use it! But I could see it possibly mattering in a poll where you are asked to express your views. Bayla

Hopefully once the evtest url ceases to exist it will sort itself out.
Glad it's not just me. You know what they say - Misery loves company !!

Michel,
Very interesting. I tried it out on Pat's original tulip image - & will admit that I couldn't see any difference between editing in 8 bits and editing in 16 bits, but then I imagine any difference would be very subtle.

Well it was working just fine until this morning when the following error message popped up: How do I update my bookmarks as suggested? I click on OK, then it asks me to log in, but doesn't accept my details. I tried deleting the forum from Tapatalk & adding it again but it still won't accept photoshopelementsandmore as a valid url only evtest.freeforums.net! Bayla

On EV when you go to Who's Online, you can see exactly which threads people are viewing, or if they are replying to a post, or PMing or viewing a picture in the gallery. I know if you can click on the Members tab here you can see who is online but is it any more specific than that?

Try this. Don't use the Insert Image icon.
Just paste the url into the body of the message. Then delete everything from the words Dick Test Images to the end. Then click on Preview and see if it looks OK. Then click on Create Post.

Dick,
Can you explain exactly what you are copying? Are you pasting your url directly into the message or uploading via postimage.org?

It's not so difficult. If I copy & paste the BBCode from Flickr then I get: Sunset by bayla2006, on Flickr I I want to get rid of the extra bits of text & just have a clickable thumbnail then I go to the BBCode & delete everything from the word Sunset to the end:

Go to Profile>Edit Profile. The Personal tab allows you to edit your signature. The Notifications tab lets you get email notifications, but it doesn't appear to be instant yet....it says 'coming soon'

Dick,
It's a bit trial & error. As a general rule of thumb I look at the BBCode & delete everything from the title to the end (All my Flickr images have a title) Then I toggle back & forth between BBCode & Preview until I've got it right. I can usually get it right first time now.

Here is what the blue channel looks like. That enhances the text. Don't remember how to extract the blue channel in Elements? - Levels (Ctrl L) - select red channel (Alt + 3) - hide it (move the right tab in the bottom output slider to zero) - select green channel (Alt + 4) - hide it (move the right tab in the bottom output slider to zero), click ok. - desaturate: Shift Ctrl U - autolevels: Shift Ctrl L Side note, although absolutely not required, all this process can be made in 16-bits mode. Do you remember how to open a jpeg in 16-bits mode in Elements? Simply open in ACR and open in the editor after setting the bit-depth menu on the middle of the bottom bar. What advantage is there to opening it in 16 bits mode? Bayla
