If im thinking right with what you've mention, could be wrong but in the mouse properties you set your own mouse preferences when working within ie pse ps or other editing software, tourerjim, I am confused. I can't find anything in the mouse properties dialog allowing me to change the mouse preferences when working within Elements, Photoshop, etc. All the settings which can be adjusted are of a "generic" kind, i.e., they relate to the OS (in my case, Windows). What am I missing? I'll have a look in a bit see if i can find the link, ill also check in my browser history

Welcome to the forum, I found in the past editing videos is very time consuming & can result as boring to view or your disappointed with your results.
I'm a gopro user & as a suggestion" I done a video using my gopro to video 3 of my grandchildren heading of to the park & on the way with gopro recording I used lots of camera moments as a form of zooming, action, various camera angles whist they were riding there bikes, same with pets lots of camera angles & zooming really does turn videos into action packed recordings.
Another suggestion taking camera pictures @ 16.9 (wide angle) also make perfect videos with the vast mix of transitions you have in Adobe Premiere.

Welcome to the forum Richard. I've been a photographer for many years now (hobby) & interestingly improving camera skills is a photographer preparing for the shot, then when I download the image to my pc I then find I'm disappointed with my image. Elements There are many areas in Elements that can correct a lot of camera mistakes but with any image editing software it has its limitations, however Elements is still a powerful tool with editing images & well worth a visit to the members gallery/latest post.

Then on the other hand there isn't a lot of difference price wise now between pse & cc/lightroom. Yes, but . . . when you get Elements you are paying for a perpetual license. You pay once and that's it. I paid for Elements 4 many years ago and I can still use it whenever I want. That's not the case with any one of the Creative Cloud apps. That's the big difference -- you don't keep up your payments, i.e., you don't maintain your subscription (rent) and that's it. No CC program for you to use. And that's what I like about pse" it's mine, as well there's everything I need within the editing, my grandsons 12 years old has become a good photographer & after couple year of learning a coarse has recently decided to try pse 13 & mentioned yesterday when I was showing him some tips with pse the speed of which my laptop works compared with his which made me think to pop back here just to mention pc/laptop performance could be a main issue to putting us off staying with pse, however I know there are no gains with ps as i experienced some years ago.

Is it curiosity to want to use CC/lightroom...? I do a lot of image art work in pse for family & friends as well as myself & don't feel im ready to move to CC so to have CC be nice but don't think I would gain any better results, I've an old version of ps & my skill level back then didn't warrant the price.

At first I thought this was going to be a hard image to work with as the image is so close up so after sifting through loads of picture found just the one for background then another with the water & marquee a section from the background image to give depth through the 75% erased window to keep the appearance of glass then a touch of hue/sats on the shack, flatten image & finish with levels adj.
