Thank you so much Sepiana......the links were excellent as was your explanation.....I'm embarrassed by the finished product so I won't show it here but it was good enough to really please my wife so what else is THAT important!

I apologize for asking what must be a pretty easy technique for you experienced users and I remember there being an answer to this question on the old site which, I believe, was answered at that time by Sepiana...whose posts provide me with MUCH help and advice. As I am seasonally very busy ( I cook at a tourist lodge in northern Canada ) I nearly always forget what I have learned and practiced the previous winter and ONCE AGAIN I cannot remember ANYTHING....including cutting the people out of the image, layers.......you name it, I've forgotten how to do it but I promised to do my best to 'create' a family picture and we posed ourselves leaving room for the phantom grandkids. I have another picture of just my wife and I with our grandkids and would like to 'cut' them out of that image and paste them as inobviously as possible into the other. I'm hoping some VERY patient person will help me do it keeping in mind I've forgotten even most likely the very BASICS od Elements. By the way I have Elements 8 Thanks Wayne

Hi everyone and Cheers from Canada North. It's been a while since the 'other' site went down but I haven't been using my equipment as much as I once did. Now I'm back in the swing and I stumbled on this site almost by accident and I recognize quite a few names. I won't mention any 'cause I might accidentally insult someone who gave me a lot of help and whose name I didn't mention. Just enough to say I'm very glad I found the site and I'm looking forward to both helping and being helped. Cheers
