Thanks Sepiana, I followed a YouTube video by Brendan Wiiliams. youtu.be/h2z6hvfISqUBecause I only have Elements I couldn't follow all the steps using layer groups so I needed to repeat the steps for each beam. By by the way I neglected to acknowledge Pixabay for the background image. Bob, thanks so much for the link! Such an effective technique! I will definitely be using it in the future.
If you want to follow this tutorial using layer groups, you can run an action to group/ungroup layers created by dconsc. You can find the .atn files in . . .

Looks like a stormy night. Bob, great job creating this effect. The stormy night looks very "real". I really like how you added the light beacon. How did you do it?
