how about Way below zero weather today.... Great shot Judy! At least you live where your neighbors cant see you are report you to the authorities for strange and unusual behavior. Mine are suspicious. I saw the cold "out east" and we are basking in sunshine and well above freezing. But we shall pay! Winter is far far from over.

Looking out my window this morning I first noticed white wrapped boats....but they were rather boring. And then, much to my delight, I saw two white swans with their wings spread in the water. A different take on a Windmill than Brenda's. This one is a Jersey landmark known for its hot dogs since the 1960's. Helen, both fit this theme to a T. I favor the 1st one, the swans going towards the back of the frame. Nice display of motion!

W is for wheat being loaded on the bulk cargo carrier Breeze. Conversationally, the breeze is docked in the waters of the Willamette River in Portland. Thanks for the theme Sepiana. Bill, one needs to go back to this image more than once to fully appreciate the display of W you captured. Another job well done!

W is for a Working Wooden pumpjack in Winter and a Wooden Wagon Wheel : I can't say I'm a big fan of the offerings from the latest eatery in town but it does begin with a W! I do wonder how they came up with 150 different flavours (but at least they spell it the way I was brought up to!) Tony, great job on all three images. My favorite? The 1st one -- how you composed it (the pumpjack leading the viewers to the power house in the background).

My "W" is Wheels, which we came upon unexpectedly while walking in London. It was nice of the shopkeeper to arrange them so attractively for us. Matthew Matthew, and you rose to the occasion. Great capture! I like the zoom-in approach, the diagonal perspective.

My "W" is for Windmill. This one is the only one left in the whole of Inner London. It is situated in deeply urban Brixton, a reminder of a long lost rural past. As the sky was overcast today when we visited, I feel justified in calling it a Winter Windmill. Brenda Brenda, I can always count on you to find a subject with a history. This windmill seems to be in excellent condition. Great job capturing its details!

Winged creature is Wisdom, whom the Greeks called Athena, represented by an O WL, one of the four corners of the Harold Washington Public Library in Chicago, IL cjt who was just there this week cjt, perfect for this theme. I like how you captured the architectural details of this Chicago landmark.

Frank, a very creative interpretation of W. I like the symmetrical composition, the bright colors, the light. Great job!

W is for Winter is leaving the room and Spring is crouching at the door. Was in the side yard today and happy to see our first rose blooms ("Fragrant Memory"/"Jadis" of 2023. It is one of our most sweetly fragrant roses. A toughie too. It's been in that spot for at least 25 years now.. Jim, at first glance, I saw " R is for Roses". Once I read your description, it all made sense. Very clever interpretation of W.

Backlighted snow, tossed by wind at Waterton Lakes National Park. February 3, 2023 Clive, great job capturing the wind tossing the snow around. A very wintry image!

A bit of a stretch - how about Way below zero weather today.... Judy, yes, maybe it is a bit of a stretch but it is an eye-catching image, one with a very wintry subject -- below zero weather.
