Love to watch and listen to snow geese. They are starting to arrive in big numbers now. With any luck, tens of thousands will build up here and linger 2 or 3 weeks. These are all 4K and look better if enlarged.

WOW, Clive...talk about 'fill the frame'!!! Great shots. Thanks Vicki. Artistically, they are not great photos but they do show the masses. Hoping to get out a few times in the next 3 weeks. The two best lakes are just 40 minutes from home.

Is there enough room for everyone? Are wide brimmed hats a necessary part of your outfit?

Are wide brimmed hats a necessary part of your outfit? I'd bet on that -

Are wide brimmed hats a necessary part of your outfit? HA HA! They never flew overhead, but I have many photos of geese "dumping" a load.

When I see these photos, I can hear the sounds from the video you posted.

The sound of, say, 100,000 snow geese taking off a mile away is something to experience. We used to live in a town which is literally in the middle of a National Wildlife Refuge and there would often be that number for a couple of weeks in the fall. They would take off, usually around sun-up or a bit before to head out into the fields for breakfast time. Clive, the photos sure brought back memories! Thanks!! cjt

Birdie birdie in the sky,
Why'd you do that in my eye ?
That is all I remember of a poem from my childhood days.

Birdie, birdie in the sky Dropped some white stuff in my eye, I'm a big girl I won't cry, I'm just glad that cows don't fly. from: unijokes.com/joke-7343/Mr. Google is amazing - I have stumped him only a few times. And that was probably more about the way the question was asked, not that the info wasn't there.
