When I was young, my mother had rooster decor in our kitchen, including a figurine and wall art. While I was never an avid fan of roosters, this photo brought back memories. I can't wait to see what our members create from this one!

One of my favorite CE's was CE 56 Displacement Maps. I used it to add the rooster to a wood plaque that I had taken.

- Created the background with a texture by Meg Bitton (Warm Fine Art). - Applied Filter Forge (Watercolor and Pencil). - Applied a texture from CoffeeShop (Artistic Canvas, Multiply blending mode, 100% Opacity). - Frame from freeImages.

What a super start for this challenge!
Lillias...'a bit off color'! I really like what you did here and love your play on words.
Frank...great idea to cage the bird. The background you chose is quite harmonious with the rooster's coloration. The result is beautiful.
Helen, another great example of utilizing what was learned previously in the forum. CE 56 was before my time here but, with such a beautiful result, I'm going to have to go back and give it a try!
Cjt...Shades of Little Red Riding Hood! The rooster should know better than to wander the forest alone! Great story you told here, cjt, and the composite looks natural, too.

Sepiana...I'm sure the rooster family would proudly hang this portrait on their wall, maybe above the fireplace! Beautifully done.

I hope we aren't too late for Dr. Doolittle's Book Club meeting today!! Judy, I hope they were all on time. I'd hate to be late for a book reading!!! Very cool composite. Love the variety of attendees! And what's up with the first one...is farmer Jones looking for something for dinner? If so...no wonder they're alarmed! Love the colors in the new background. Perfect for the roosters! Howard, that fox certainly looks sneaky! Mr. Rooster better pay more attention to his surroundings! Excellent edit and storytelling.
