Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread The rules are rather simple.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

The magnificent facade of the former Grants Department Store in Croydon Town Centre. Built in 1894 it was once regarded as the Harrods of south London. When it eventually closed, developers were sympathetic enough to preserve the original windows and brickwork. i.ibb.co/Kyjss9M/Windows.jpgDennis

A sad fate for what I guess was a once magnificent Tudor window in the Old Palace in Croydon, formerly the summer residence of the Archbishops of Canterbury. Budgetary constraints were no doubt responsible for its cruel mutilation; I only hope that the interior treatment of the window is much less ruthless. i.ibb.co/MgjBYMS/1.jpgWalking along Croydon High Street, it is always interesting to lift one's eyes above the modern shop fronts to the pleasing, old fashioned designs of the windows above. i.ibb.co/yRbZG7N/2.jpgBrenda

The windows below are more interesting (and a lot newer) than those above but I liked the building facade that dates back to the 1890's - and I liked the coffee too! Tony

The stained glass window above the altar of St Mark's Church in Kennington (just steps away from The Oval Cricket Ground) makes a colourful change from an external view. St Mark's was consecrated in 1824. It was badly damaged by bombing in 1940, so the window is probably at least partially restored. i.ibb.co/9yYFmhq/W2.jpgBrenda

I keep going back to this image to fully appreciate these windows. They did a great preservation job and so did you with your capture of this architectural "gem".

Brenda Brenda, 1st image -- What a sad fate for a Tudor window! A piece of historical architecture is gone. Keep this image for posterity! 2nd image -- One needs to take one's time looking at it to fully appreciate the design of these windows. They are an architectural eye-catcher!

Windows reflecting in other windows as photographed through a window. Thanks for the theme Sepiana. Bill, WOW! You took this theme to another level with your capture of their reflections. One image to be framed and displayed on the wall.

Taken this morning strolling around Richmond’s art district Helen, you found quite a variety of window styles. Great job capturing them all! They are an architectural delight.

cjt, I like your thinking out of the box -- stained vs non-stained window. Zooming in to get their details did the job.
