"Practice Session" Tabby cat by Benjamin Farren @pexels. Jim, this is hilarious! It could be a poster for a children's room. Nicely done.

- Ran fotofrank's Dreamy BW action. - Applied an Adobe Paper Texture Pro (Dorian Gray, Multiply blending mode, 50% Opacity). - Created the frame effect with Filter Forge (Photographic Edges).

Grungy version... Additions - Two Grunge Frames from all-free-download.com, png file from HiClipart and Oil Painting Texture from Shadowhouse Creations. Placed the Oil Painting Texture above the background and applied the Hue blend mode. I used the two grunge frames as clipping masks on the overall image. Extracted the lion and applied the photocopy filter. I deleted the white from the photocopy filter leaving just the black outline and placed this above the lion at a reduced opacity of 50% and applied a simple emboss bevel to the outline.

Used the Stylize filter (extension for Photoshop). Selected the square and added a drop shadow.

Lillias, this combo of techniques paid off. This is grungy indeed. Strong and defined lines.

mart44, very creative -- the Lion King as a bookend. The composite has a 3D look. Nicely done!

mart44 , very creative -- the Lion King as a bookend. The composite has a 3D look. Nicely done! Thanks Sepiana - I'm still falling into the 'related digital imaging software' category and this is another effort using Xara Designer. It does a fairly good job of cutting the subject out from the background. The lion is duplicated and reversed. The books are a royalty free download from the Xara online image store but this too had to be cut out from the background. Slight shadows added to all parts. I drew the top that the lions and books are sitting on. The background is a Xara Designer fill. All drawn and put together on the same drawing board or layer.

- Created the composite with an image from Pixabay. - Took the file into Luminar AI (Sunrise). - Applied a Watercolor-Cool Tones texture by Meredith Images (Tan, Multiply blending mode, 100% Opacity). - Applied the Iris Blur filter. - Created the frame with a layer style by Jodi Frye.

Sepiana, your framed image above is beautiful. It looks like it belongs on a museum wall. The one above the tree....but the tree is a nice one, too.

Now I understand the 3D look of your composite.
