using a mask to paint back some of the original area where the subject makes contact with the ground to avoid a disconnected look. I agree, Moto. I did think your first version sort of left the vase hanging out in space but adding the yellow table added realism to it and complemented the background and flower's colors.

After seeing Tony's image in TP I had wanted to try it on an image that I had taken at Cannon Beach. However, that image was nowhere to be found. After seeing the one above I looked through that folder again and decided to try it on one of the haystacks. Maybe I should have used a bit more blur?
