The combination of NIK filters gave it a very unique look, Pete. Nice snow overlay.

Swapped the sky and converted my first entry to B/W using NIK SE6. Cropped out the fence and then expanded the canvas with generative fill. Added a double mat.

After the clear day we have a clear night with a crescent moon and stars. I added the moon and stars, blended using lighten mode.

Used my initial edit to work on. I cropped the image and I cloned out the fence. I expanded the canvas to the left, selected a portion of the image and stretched it over the added canvas. Instead of replacing the sky I added a couple of cloud brushes. Applied a levels adjustment to brighten the whole scene up. After a stormy night we have a crisp fresh bright new morning.

Thank you for this challenge. I am inspired by all the creative edits! Here is my take: 1 Edited in ACR as shown in the screenshot 2 Applied a Redfield quad pencil sketch filter at about 60% transparent to give a crisp look. 3 Removed the sensor dust spots using the healing brush 4 Added a Channel Mixer adjustment layer with the "Warmth" preset 5 Used a brightness adjustment layer 6 Used a levels adjustment layer to paint in a Vignette. I have made a cropped and uncropped version. Kind regards Chris

Thanks Helen and Chris for the comments. Chris I think the golden hue is the result of the Nik “bright sepia’” filter. Helen— For me this challenge is always fun. Not only is it interesting to see the different edits but also it is the thought, “Gee, I wish I would have thought of that”.

After the clear day we have a clear night with a crescent moon and stars. I added the moon and stars, blended using lighten mode. To fully appreciate this effect I think people need to view the larger image. Nice job with the moon and stars, Pete. After a stormy night we have a crisp fresh bright new morning. Definitely get that feel....can see this hanging as a metal print, Lillias. I have made a cropped and uncropped version. I prefer your cropped version and like the hint of a warm glow, Chris.

Here is my second attempt. I wanted to create a dreamy landscape. I used my original edit with a new crop. Applied the Jixipix Impresso Filter with the "Tranche Light" preset. Applied the channel mixer warmth filter and a vignette and toned down the brightness a bit. Kind regards Chris

Clicking on your image allows me to see the painterly texture that you have added, Chris. Very nice!

Thank you all for participating and editing my image. I am impressed by all of your many skills and vast knowledge of techniques far beyond my basic photo editing abilities. Following are brief comments about all submissions (in order of appearance) and then I have "selected" three submissions that stand out for me. (Hope I have not missed any submissions.) 1) fotofrank Frank, a pleasing "simple' edit that accentuates the sky and barn. This is an improvement if my flat original. Good crop suggestion. 2) hmca Helen, as with Frank's your edits are simple and subtly effective. 3) Peterj Peter, an effective cold-and-stormy-night outcome. Brrrr 4) tonyw A much brighter effect that turns this into a bitterly cold day. Like Frank's this is a vast improvement if my flat original. 5) Lillias Lillias. I love the overall effects that have turned this into a cold, wintery postcard 6) Peterj Peter, a "warm" version of a cold winter's day. 7) fotofrank Frank, this is what I'll be dreaming about for a few months. An effective alteration that, for the unknowing, would be difficult to detect. 8) PeteB Pete, I really like the outcome here. Looks like a moonlit night ... with snow. 9) hmca Helen, an effective B&W with ominous clouds. 10) Peterj Peter, the overall night effect works well and the moon suggests a clear and bitterly cold night. 11) Lillias Lillias. An effective outcome: a pleasing, bright winter scene. 12) Chris Chris, the "warm" effect suggests the beginning of a pending warm day that will thaw the frost. Pleasing effects. 13) Chris Chris, you certainly accomplished your "dreamy landscape" and I really like the outcome. 14) hmca Helen, excellent outcome that begs a "Merry Christmas" banner. All winners and thanks to all. These submissions stood out for me: Helen's watercolor Chris' dreamy landscape Lillias' grunge night scene

Lots of lovely entries for this challenge Clive. I don't envy you having to choose from among them all. Thanks for your kind comments on mine and for the honour of one of mine appearing in your stand out selections.
