Original image from Pixabay. I duplicated that layer and added a mild blur to the duplicate. I added a layer mask to that and brushed the blur effect away from the bottom half of the image and brought back a touch of the sun. I added the hay bales and the harvester machine from HiClipart and two Brush Stroke Textures by Jai Johnson blended with Multiply and Overlay blend modes at 100% for one and 50% for the other. I added a solid colour layer to get the colour I wanted and blended that with the Hard Light blend mode again adding a layer mask and softening the effect by brushing it off along the top and bottom of the image with a soft brush at a low opacity. I was aiming for a sort of 'old masters' painterly look! Original

I was aiming for a sort of 'old masters' painterly look! It seems to me you have achieved your goal and chosen an appropriate frame.

Dave and I started fishing together about 9 years when he was undergoing chemo treatments and was off work for months. We became close friends. We still fish together on occasion. We spent one week in the Northwest Territories in June, 2024. Last Saturday, we fished at Police Outpost again. It was a glorious fall day and a few rainbow trout were landed. A grand day.

pontiac1940.....I like the curve of the Fishing with Dave lettering Do you do a lot of "fiddling" with the placement of your pictures on your pages? You always seem to come up with a "flow".

Looks like a perfect day and those fish look like a good size... Thanks, Lillias. These were big trout. Do you do a lot of "fiddling" with the placement of your pictures on your pages? You always seem to come up with a "flow". Oh Helen! You made me look again and I saw a "flaw." Yes, I just fiddle until they look "right." I usually do not want any edges of the insets to be in line, i.e. all offset from each other on the sides and top and bottom. It bothers my brain if two edges are in line. And thus the problem. The bottom edges of the two bottom photos are almost in line. Picky perhaps.

A very simple one - picture from this week (colours aren't very impressive this year) - words lifted from Adobe Stock (free!) having been seeing the sort of things they have to offer. Tony

For this one I followed the tut from Digital Scrapper to create a halftone effect to the title. The tut used a cursive script font but it can also be done as I have here. I clipped a texture paper by 2 LilOwls to the main title. For the BG and other items on the page I used two kits by Russian Dutch Heart - namely, Harvest Time and Autumn Day. The tut I mentioned can be found Here

Agree with Jim, Lillias. I really like the way you did the text, too.
