Great job with the meditating guy from last week! These horses caught my attention.....interested to see your plans for them. Image by Susann Mielke from Pixabay

Nice image. Thought I might try to give it an old painterly look! Brought in an image from Pexels, resized it, placed it, and then masked it to show only the parts that I wanted. I applied a slight blur to that. I also applied a photo filter adjustment layer to unify the colours somewhat. I applied a fotoglow effect by Anna Aspnes Designs and placed it under the horse on the right. I used two different texture overlay effects both from Shadowhouse Creations. The first one is from the Oil Painting Texture Set blended using the overlay blend mode and masked some of that off from the centre of the image. The second texture is from the Raised Effect Textures. Again used the overlay blend mode this time at 50% opacity. I had to duplicate that one to get the look I wanted. It’s a face off to see who is going to be the new lead Stallion of the pack of wild horses.

Beautiful work, Lillias. The background horses look like they were part of the original image and are proportionately sized......something I always struggle with. Your added textures were well chosen for this old painterly look.

I selected the horses and wanted to create a metal etching look. I started by using a black and white adjustment layer with maximum white, and then added a bronze solid color adjustment layer to get a coppery look. I placed Fly Paper Ovid Banished texture layer beneath the horses and merged the layers. I then used a pastel smudge filter in Topaz Impression to better blend the horses with the background texture. In photoshop I duplicated the Impression image and added a bas relief filter using multiply blend mode.

I like the metal etching look. I can imagine this framed and on the wall. It reminds me of a metal wall hanging my parents used to have years ago. The subject matter was different but the look was very much like this.

"Bookends" Resized and C&P the horses onto the bookcase (by Deeezy) and then the books (by Pixabay) onto those. Masked and cloned a bit to remove original backgrounds. Added poster edges filter to entire image.

- Applied my own texture (Swirl Wood, Multiply blending mode, 100% Opacity). - Applied Topaz Adjust AI (Blue Matte Film).

Sepiana, the swirl texture was a good choice to enhance the sense of movement inherent in the starter image.

Haven't OOBed in a while and it didn't quite come out as planned but I needed the practice! Tony

Looks good to me, tonyw! I had looked for a OOB tut for the current CE Challenge and couldn't find one. I probably need to look again.

I tried another one today as well. Created the texture for the "tapestry" using a picture of a rug. Background was from StockSolo. I used a clipping mask to add my edit to the wall hanging in the picture I chose. Used both solid color adjustment layers and hue saturation adjustments to change the colors of the couch and lamp in the background picture.
