Maybe not a perfect shot, Helen, but it's got a lot of potential. I would recommend boots for the stroll, though.

Wowy Rita, that is superb and is going to be a tough act to follow. A+ for that one!

Helen, thanks! Lots of possibilities here.
- Cartoon effect created with Topaz Simplify. - Halftone frame effect created with Filter Forge. - Scarecrow image is from freeimages.

Rita, had to take a second look to find the part of the original....I agree with Sydney.....superb, indeed!
Sepiana, I have Simplify but don't think I've used the cartoon filter.....works well with your composition and i like the scarecrow and the frame....FUN!

Sidney and Helen, thank you very much for your very kind evaluation.
Helen, about 'finding the part of the original'. I imported the brownish undergrowth at the bottom of the image, added color to the blossoms and, of course, the fox. Everything else was right there in the original photo, which I liked because of the many available textures. Just moved, cloned and blended different elements together with layer masks and finished it off with a combination of two Topaz Simplify BuzSim filters.
Sepiana, a fun composition and looks like you had fun making it!

I had a difficult time with this image. I ended up bringing it into Perfect Effects 9 and used the close up black and white preset with an Ansel border (which I see now that it has been uploaded doesn't show up very well. Oh well, I am too spent to do a rework - perhaps tomorrow).

Don't think it was you, Sydney. When I was looking for a picture to post for the challenge I came upon this one and wondered why I ever saved it! Converting to black and white was a good idea!

My attempt at a straight enhancement. Straightened image to give the fence a more pleasing angle and filled the corners with content aware fill Levels adjustment to lighten. Topaz BuzSim Desaturated to eliminate small detail and enhance shadows Topaz BuzSim III Color Blend Mode, low opacity to bring back a little more vivid color Dark Vignette and black border blurred.

Thanks Helen for this weeks starter image. Well I would upload my picture. But postimage.org doesn't seem to be working for me right now. When I hit the button I just get a blank window. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it on my end somewhere?
Well it looks like it worked this time. Thanks Julie for commenting.

Verber Well, I have just tried postimage and got the normal window for selecting the image. I didn't proceed as I don't have an image to upload. Perhaps try again as it's 2 hours since you had your issue.

I checked postimage.org a few minutes ago and it was working just fine. It may have been just a temporary glitch with their site or on your end. Here is a little help if this occurs again. You will learn who the culprit is.

Rita.....another interesting interpretation.....I like the fence extension and the painterly effect. I hope you didn't think I thought your first submission was unacceptable......you can certainly use just part of an image for this challenge.
Mike....congratulations on your 100th post! Glad you were finally able to add your image.....quite a display in orange!
