This is to test the possibilities of this forum for setting up polls (seems very flexible). You can choose up to four choices, but keep it simple and state only the softwares you are using regularly, not the ones you have installed for rare uses. Please add posts to add details, like software versions, softwares not in my list or rarely used softwares. Of course, including your softwares in your signature is more important than stating all your gear . I don't include organizing softwares, a distinct poll would be necessary. Thanks for participating... and updating your signature if needed.

Test: Where do the responses appear (eg this one) Ahh - here, it's just that no one else had posted I mainly use NIK as part of an action (I paid for it as part of a package on using NIK) that converts colour images to 3 B&W ones - one over, one under and one normally exposed.

Yes... the first members to take part in the poll did not add any comment. Still not many answers, probably because I posted directly in the 'other' subforum. The first lesson for me is that it's easy and flexible to set up a poll. Interesting notes for me from the first answers: - There is one member who does not use Elements regularly. I am sure he/she has good reasons to come here. That can be a CC user teaching Elements, a photographer interested in other photography themes, creation, contests, sharing, gear... - In average, those answers suggest that three softwares are commonly uses (the CC plan means Photoshop plus Lightroom). That tells us that the ' and more' in our forum name is totally justified. - I did not add an 'other' option, which is bad practice, but since everybody is invited to comment...

I like the ability to see instant results of the poll without having to go to a different screen and that I can vote for more than one item.

I think the results should be hidden until you have voted.

Interesting poll Michel.
I use Elements on the occasion I need layers and Content Aware Fill. I use Lightroom for its Raw processing capability and for all my file management, Collections etc. Also a superb Print Module. I like Perfect Photo Suite mainly for Perfect Effects module. I use Dxo Pro Elite for it's Raw processing. I sometimes feel it handles Raw files better that Adobe ACR for landscape images. The 'Clearview' option within DXO is a superior version of 'Clarity' in the Adobe raw engine, in my opinion.
I hope this is the sort of info you were asking for Michel.

I think the results should be hidden until you have voted. I don't think it matters on a poll like this - you are hardly going to be influenced to click on Lightroom for instance if you never use it! But I could see it possibly mattering in a poll where you are asked to express your views. Bayla

Michel perhaps i am that one member who does not use pse regularly. In fact i no longer have it. I started with pse 4 and now have cs5. But I so enjoy my extended family that the program i am using is not going to keep me from enjoying the company of good people and learning a thing or two. There are many areas i can still can participate in such as the challenges. I will have two forums to enjoy and a facebook group this makes me happy.

There are many excellent reasons not to use PSE regularly, but that's by far the friendliest reason for staying and playing with us .

I have Elements and I use Topaz (Adjust, Clarity, Restyle, DeNoise, Impressions, Lens Effects, Glow and Star Effects), Perfect Effects and Perfect Resize.
I shoot in raw and must process my raw files through Elements first. Organizer is getting better, but I would prefer better ways to show and move my images.

I like the 'like' button. I have kept updating Element because I like the Premiere for video editing. The Village no longer has a section for Premiere, but I always go to muvipix dot com if I need help. I don't use the organizer since I started using Lightroom. That said, I purchased version 13 to put on a little laptop that I use for traveling. It can't support the big guys. I want to download the day's images into some software to work on my RAW files that day. I even renewed my membership to PET! The real reason I keep coming back to the Village is the same as Ladybugs. I have friends here from all over the world!

Anyone to comment on the first results of this poll? What I have to say is that the 'AND MORE' part of our forum name seems totally justified. Of course, the statistical value of the first 25 posters is a bit short, but I think it's typical of the most active members.

I only have Elements v11 and v12 and, so far, that's enough for me. I'm not a photographer although I do take the odd (very odd) photo with my little point-and-click camera or my mobile phone. I think my main interest is more in unusual effects rather than enhancing photos but I think I should venture into enhancements really. I need to get my old photos out, scanned in, and see what I can do to fix the 'dated' hue on each photo! Elements will do me well for a long time yet

I haven't tried the polling feature myself, and it does look rather nice.
