I have both PSE 11 and PSE 13 using Windows 10 OS
I need to import (copy) a 2 sided small paper into PSE, then merge them together to make a one sided print.
When I bring up Import using PSE11 I get: Frame from Video WIA Support
When I bring up Import using PSE 13 I get: WIA Support
What do I need to do for PSE 11 and 13 to see my Epson printer?
This did work before I updated to Win 10 from Win7
Thank you

I am not sure this is the root of the problem but . . . do you have the latest driver for your printer? You can check by going to the Epson website.

Hi Sepiana,
Thank you for your help. Unfortunately that did not fix this problem. PSE still is not seeing my printer.
However that did fix another (very minor) problem I had in that my printer is wireless, but the wireless portion was not working until I installed the new driver.
I do thank you for that!
Do you or anyone else have any other ideas how to get PSE 11 or 13 to see my printer?

Is it just PSE that is not seeing your printer? Have you checked other apps?

When I select Import in PSE, I do not see my printer listed at all. I do not understand how renaming the printer would change that.

I think I am missing something here(misread note). You want to import from a printer? I have never heard of that before. I don't think PSE can do that, I have never heard of any application that does that. Usually you scan the paper in then import the file created. What app do you use that you can import from a printer, I am curious...............

Sue -
I believe Charles is referring to a scanner built into his printer.
Charles, are you saying that when you click on WIA Support you do not see your printer listed?

Charles,
I am on the same wavelength as Sue and Craig after I went back and read your original post. The command you mentioned earlier relates to scanning.
When I bring up Import using PSE11 I get: Frame from Video WIA Support When I bring up Import using PSE 13 I get: WIA Support If you are trying to scan a file directly into Elements, this may explain why Elements cannot see the scanner.
helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/twain-installed-photoshop-elements-11.html
NOTE:
Adobe made some changes in Elements 13. If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you cannot scan directly into this version of Elements using the TWAIN plug-in. You need to use WIA (Windows' built-in scanning system). On the other hand, if you have a 32-bit version of Windows, you can still use TWAIN for scanning. If you have a 64-bit version of Windows and you don't want to use WIA, there is a workaround. Use your scanner's software and save your scans to a folder.

Sue, Craig and Sepiana,
Forgive me for not being clearer in my original post. Yes I want to scan using my printer to Import into PSE.
I wanted to post a screenshot to show what I get when I click on WIA Support, but do not find a way to post here on PSE & More an image directly from my computer, and I have forgotten the name 2 websites that I have used, and do not find a bookmark in my files.... one was cube something, the other started with a P... oh I hate having my poor memory....
But no when I click on WIA Support I get
Importing DID work on my computer with PSE BEFORE I upgraded to Windows 10 from Win7 ....sigh....
Before Windows 10 when I clicked on Import from PSE then it would show me a list of my 2 scanners..... (one is older for scanning large negatives)

Charles,
Check our FAQs board. There are instructions how to insert an image into a post using a variety of image-hosting services. Most of our members use postimage.org.
You may be thinking of Pixentral and CubeUpload. Pixentral seems to have gone out of business. CubeUpload has had some problems lately; it has been up and down.
The error message you are getting seems to indicate the problem is between the OS (Windows 10) and your printer/scanner (Epson). The fact that you said you didn't have this problem when using Windows 7 seems to substantiate it.
It may be a good idea to also try these sites for help.

Charles, just going back to this for some clarification.
Adobe's suggestion to rename either the printer or the scanner if you have an all-in-one printer is offered not only in the Help file but also in the Adobe Photoshop Elements forum. And, yes, there is confirmation that it works (depending on the nature of the original problem). You do the renaming via the Control Panel.
1. Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers\ . . .
2. Right-click on the printer icon, select Printer properties, and select the General tab.
3. Enter a new name for your printer in the appropriate box.

Hi Inspqtor. I don't know how to fix your PSE problem but a workaround, a pretty good one actually, is to use the Epson Scan module that comes with Epson printers to scan your document to a jpeg and then open the jpeg in PSE. I do a lot of scanning and I use Epson Scan every time. It works really well and gives you plenty of options to edit your scans at the preview stage before actually scanning. If you haven't already installed it, may I suggest you give it a go. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Good luck

Sepiana, One question I have with renaming my printer... My wife uses a laptop and frequently also uses the same printer. IF I rename the printer will her laptop still 'see' my printer?
