Our First Digital Scrapbooking Challenge
Your hosts will be: Billie Jean and Cats4Jan
Challenge Requirements:
-Make a layout which includes the following three colors: yellow, green, and purple
-You must include a frame and a photo
-You must include Text. Text can be in the form of a title or text commenting on your layout (journaling)
-Add any other embellishments that you desire
This challenge is open ended - right now, there is no closing date.
For those new to digital scrapbooking - who might not have a scrapbook stash to dip into:
-There are frames included with your Shape Tool
Under the Graphics tab, there are more Frames and a variety of other Graphics available
-You can find free photos at Morgue File and Pixabay
-You can create embellishments (doodads) using the Shape Tool or a Brush
Any of these things can be grouped (clipped) to a photo or background paper to change it's look
The standard size for digital scrapbooking is 3600 pixels by 3600.
Scrapbook kits are based on this standard, so it's best to start with a project this size to reduce the need to resize scrapbook kit items.
If you have enough hard drive space, keep your psd's. It's nice to be able to go back and grab items from old layouts, if you so desire.
Be sure to credit the work of others. If you use items from a Digital Scrapbook Kit, follow the Designer's TOU (Terms of Use) - this usually says you need to give them credit for designing the item. Use photos with permission only or use photos from sites that allow free use.
In the Digital Scrapbooking World, there is only one rule - there are no rules!
Digital Scrapbooking is as diversified as you can imagine. From the simple to the incredibly complex. Go with your own vision.
The only person you need to please is yourself.
Looking forward to seeing your scrapbook layouts.
