I have been using Photoshop Elements for a number of years and now use PSE 10.
I don’t know what I have done but something is messed up.
When I go into organizer instead of my 14,000 pictures showing up I get 14,000 picture size squares and each of them has a question mark (?).
I tried “reconnect all missing files” with no success. It only brought back the 14,000 question marks.
I tried to reconnect by browsing but had no luck with that.
I showed properties for the "question mark pictures" to find the source and the source is E:\pictures on some and E:\my pictures on others. When I tried browsing on my own I put E:\pictures in for the file name and a screen came up showing a thumbnail of the pictures but asked me to put in the file name. I can’t figure out what file name is required.
The Keyword Tags all show up but when I click on one tag to bring up that series of tags the screen brings up the number of pictures with that tag but it is just a series of blank squares with a question mark in each. I know that the proper pictures are there because I can read the captions.
How can I turn the question marks into pictures?
Thank you,
Bradley

Hi Bradley - welcome to the forum!
So PSE thinks your photos are on a drive on your computer that is mounted as e:\. If you go into Windows Explorer, do you have an e:\ drive? If you do, and you go into e:\pictures, do you see the photos?

Ok - that is a good sign.
Have you tried to do a repair on your catalog first, before reconnecting?

Thank you for your help. I had not done a repair so I did so. The results were a lot of the photos showed up and a lot of the images were still question marks. I went to properties on the images that showed up and they came from E:\ I then went to properties on some of the images that did not show up and they came from C:\users\bradley Although I know nothing about this it appears that there are 2 (maybe more) catalogs and only 1 is being picked up. If that is the case how do I combine all the photos into 1 catalog?
Thank you, Bradley

I'm glad to hear you are making progress! I'm not sure how to merge two catalogs, but others on the forum might have experience with that. You could try the "reconnect" function again - then you might be able to reconnect the photos that PSE things are are c:\ with those on e:\
