I updated from EL 6 to EL 14 when I got a new computer. I moved my photos from EL 6 to EL14. MY photos showed up in the folders in organizer. Do I need to move them to the albums section? What is the difference between albums and folders? I do not understand what is going on here. Any help would b very much appreciated!! Jeffrey

Folders reflect how the pictures are stored on your computer and will look the same as if you use Windows Explorer (assuming you are a Windows user). Albums are created by you within PSE. You can create albums for a vacation, an event, etc.
As an example: when you copy your photos off your SD card and put them on your computer, they might be in folders based on the date they were taken. Let's say you went on a 1 week vacation - you might have seven folders, one for each day. That is what you would see in Folder view. You could then go into Elements and create an Album from all of them, and call it "Vacation".

Jeffrey To add to sargenta1's good answer, here is a similar question in the Adobe user to user forum: forums.adobe.com/thread/2079638In other words, folders are a storing organization on your drive, albums are only lists kept in the catalog for selecting and displaying your selected files. You can use a custom sort order for your albums. The files are never duplicated on your drive, but you can include the same item in different albums; for instance in an album for your 'vacation' and in another for another theme, like 'cruises'. You could add a new keyword 'vacation......' instead of creating an album. You would retrieve your selection as well, but without the ability to keep your sort order.
