Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo this week that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. This challenge is all about getting you out there (or inside) with your camera and shooting something you perhaps wouldn't normally photograph. Have some fun experimenting!
The rules are simple.
Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. Your photo(s) should be taken during the week of the theme. You are allowed to do some photoshopping.

Frank,
You got this week's challenge to a great start. I love the symmetry in your image and its sharpness. The stained-glass details are so clear!

This is not a qualifier for this week as it was taken several years ago, but I had to post it for the theme anyway. The church is the oldest one on the island where we lived (it was about 1½ hours from our house) in the Bahamas, and is unused and slowly disintegrating. I spent a couple of hours one day just taking a bunch of photographs of it so I wanted to share it on this theme. Very little post processing was done - just enough to develop it from the raw capture. I'll try to shoot current one later this week.

Rick, First of all, thanks for letting us know this is an old image. I really appreciate your "playing-by-the-rules" approach to this challenge. Kudos to you!
I will comment on it anyway . . .
Great capture! This image is simply beautiful. The deterioration makes this church look surreal. Hope you find a place for this image on the wall!
Looking forward to your "current" entry.

St Saviour Anglican Church, Brock Memorial Church. In Queenston overlooking the Niagara river. The only Anglican church dedicated to a layman - Sir Isaac Brock who was a Commander of Troops here during the war of 1812 - so I guess he was partly responsible for Ontario being in Canada and having a flag with the Union Jack in one corner and not the Stars and Stripes! The sun was a problem taking this shot - not quite backlit but close to it and lots of trees and shadows so the histogram was pretty much flat from one end to the other. If I had had a tripod and the time it would have been a good situation to take multiple shots at different exposures and blend them but had to make do with one shot and some fiddling with Lightroom. Just another case when I look at a shot after the fact and see what I should have done when it is too late! Tony

Bill,
This is a double winner! As a photo -- I love its sharpness and how you brought up all the architectural details of the building. As a church -- a breath of fresh air with the rainbow banners. Great job!

Glad you came back. What a shot! You really captured the beauty of this church interior. And with an iPhone! Great job.

This is the mark of a true photographer; you know what you should have done at the time of the shooting. I wish I could say the same about myself.
In spite of the shooting circumstances, you still produced a great shot. What a beautiful old church! Sharing its history with us earns you extra points!

My apologies to Sepiana for not getting back with a qualifying photo this week. Once again, time just passed too quickly and the hourglass ran out of sand.
