I managed to get E12 communicating with Perfect Effects 9.5 and that is quite handy.
I know I cannot do likewise with E7; however, can I program E12 to send files to E7 ?
Thanks for reading.

I'm not sure what you mean by "send files". Presumably, the files are on your hard drive. So after you load it into E7 and do your thing, load it into E12.

I guess I didn't explain myself very well.
If I have an image file opened in full edit in Elements 12; rather than closing the file in E12 and then having to navigate to it's folder in order to load it in E7, is there a direct means of then sending said image file straight to Elements 7, just like I am able to do with Perfect Effects ?

No, you can't do that. But what you can do is keep Windows Explorer open to the folder in which the photo you're working on resides. Then, once you save it from E12 and open E7, just drag it from Explorer into E7's work area.

Thanks; I will check that out; as much dragging and dropping as I have done, I have never dragged/dropped anything into Elements.

BuckSkin, If you have installed Elements+ in your PSE 7 and PSE 12, please, try the following: 1. In PSE 7, open E+ "Scripts" dialog > go to "Tweaks" category > run "Hidden Prefs" script 2. In "Hidden Prefs" dialog that appears, check "Auto-Update Open Documents" option. 3. Do the same in PSE 12: open "Hidden Prefs" dialog and select "Auto-Update" option. Now you can edit the same image in the both versions. Whenever you save it [Ctrl+S] in PSE 7, it's automatically updated in PSE 12. And vise versa.

We have only had E12 a week or so and I haven't yet gotten around to getting everything plugged into it yet. As soon as I can scrape up a few dollars, I am for certain going to get E12+ Although most of it is way over my head, I am a true believer in Elements+

In the meanwhile, you can try the "Auto-Update" option in PSE 7 Thanks: I was unaware until now that I even had an "auto update option"; I will have to check it out. Whether it be image editing or other computer use, whenever I pick up a new-to-me trick that most everyone else has been doing for years, it is as if I have crossed some great divide into a new horizon.

That Auto-Update trick is NEAT!!!; I opened an image in E7, tweaked it a bit, saved it without changing the file-name, left it open in E7, opened it in E12, tweaked it some more, saved again without changing the file-name, and when I went back to E7, there it was with the tweaks I just did in E12; COOL !!! What do these options do, "Enable History Log" and "Allow Non-Linear History" What are the pros and cons of each ? Thanks for reading.

BuckSkin, I'm glad it works for you All the "Hidden Prefs options are described in E+ Help file. The link to your version-specific documentation must be available on your Desktop. The online documentation (for all versions) is available here: elementsplus.net/help/en/hidden-prefs.htm
