Nicely done Helen! I really like your sense of color.

and a very good try it is! I noticed that the dimensions are pretty small though; resizing before getting started to at least 1000x1000px can have a large impact on the subsequent steps. Perhaps you will give that a try and let me know if it does help?

The resizing occurred at upload. I started at 1000 x 1000. Thanks!

I could not change to pixels at the beginning. It was not on the list. I managed fine until the end - but the glass effect would not come on the coloured parts.

I could not change to pixels at the beginning. I am assuming you are talking about Image>Resize . . . at the beginning of the tutorial. It looks like "Resample Image" is not turned on. Also, once you turn on this setting, make sure "Constrain Proportions" is also turned on.

I'm sorry you had troubles whippet . I'm not sure what happened in your case, but I did have a problem with one starter image. It turned out it loaded in Grayscale mode instead of RGB color (Click Image | Mode to check this). Was that what happened with you?

I am afraid that Mode has no bearing on the problem whippet encountered.

I believe this problem is related to the "Resample Image" option. According to Barbara Brundage . . .

. . . may I ask as to where you get the image to start off with, please? I'm totally flumoxed as to where to start looking.
Julie, go back to the original post in this thread. There are two links to sites where you can get such patterns.
www.photoshopelementsandmore.com/post/28454
I myself used this site -- downeaststainedglass.com/sgbds/free2/
As a side note -- You can also create your own patterns. Check some of the categories for the Custom Shape tool. Ex.: Ornaments
Many, many thanks, Sepiana. I obviously didn't read that post thoroughly - probably too excited to get to see the resulting images When I get some free time again, this tutorial will be the first thing I'll be working on Thanks so much

Julie, go back to the original post in this thread. There are two links to sites where you can get such patterns. As Sepiana said, I did provide a couple of links to a large number of images. However, if you click on one of them, you should see some buttons on the right side of the screen. If you click the Visit Page button you will be taken to the site the image came from. Many of these sites contain many more images, and often there is additional info about stained glass, suggested colorings, tutorials, etc. It can be a lot of fun drilling down and finding delightful and interesting info related to stained glass. Thanks, I obviously didn't read your original post properly Too excited to get to the images, I suspect I'll be trying this soon, I hope. Time is an issue just at the moment Thanks again Julie

Problem solved - at last. I went to sepiana's link for a picture. And it worked first time.
