Very observant Bayla - I think she's texting also. Great work Buckskin. I like the fact that her dress with tulle looks a little dressy for the area she is at.

Great shot, buck. A lot of good PP too. Where is "around here"? I was not aware that Santa Fe came to this part of the world. I'm also from the commonwealth (eastern) but we planted tobacco by hand. Also topped it and wormed it by hand. My colonel certificate is signed by Martha Layne. I'm also interested in iron furnaces in the hills. Any in your area? John No iron furnaces close; however, there used to be several along South US127 in Tennessee, just North of Signal Mountain. (or whatever big hill that is just North of Chattanooga where they no longer allow trucks); you could see them from the road; some of them look like a bee-hive coke oven; maybe they are still there.
That locomotive (and several more) has been owned by the Kentucky Railway Museum for at least twenty years and is pictured at New Haven on the Lebanon Branch of the L&N Railroad; it is run almost daily.
As for seeing out of area locomotives, it is not uncommon to see engines doing run-through service from all the major roads on the Cincinnati, New Orleans, and Texas Pacific; AKA: Queen and Crescent; AKA: Cincinnati Southern; AKA: The Rathole (due to number of tunnels); AKA: Southern Railway; and currently on lease to Norfolk-Southern, but STILL owned by the city of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Glad you like the picture.

The depot was having their annual WWII/1940s celebration that weekend and that may explain the outfit; earlier in the day, she was wearing heels and accessories befitting the event.
Is a "tulle" that gauzy see-thru business she is wearing ? --- I am not very well versed on such things.....

Alas, it rained a flood all day that Saturday and put a damper on a lot of the festivities; Sunday was very soggy, but not so much rain.
Thanks for the compliment.
