ATTENTION!!!
There is no longer a "next Sunday" posting deadline. You can grab your camera, take your photo, and post it in this thread any time you wish to.
Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.
NOTE
The idea behind this week's theme is that the Red color should take center stage in the photo (or photos) you submit for this challenge. Other colors are allowed to "sneak in" but the predominant color of your subject(s) should be Red. So, grab your camera and . . . Go Red!

I have never tried to blur a background before. I hope this is what you want for your theme, Sepiana. Robin red breast. Red admiral butterfly. Red tomatoes. Walkies.

As far as blurring the background, you need to use the Aperture Priority shooting mode when taking your shot. (I believe your camera offers this mode.) Just use the dial button and select the smallest number available. Small number = wide aperture = shallow depth of field = nice blurry backgrounds. Take various shots using different apertures to see how they will affect the background.

Am I the only one seeing red? An old post box. There are still quite a few in service.

Whippet, you beat me to the post box - and made a better job of it! My contribution will have to be this children's slide in the local park, a red fire engine/slide/climbing frame.

From today's walk......interesting how so many of the Florida flowers I passed weren't really a true red. This was the closest I came across....

Nice to see red flowers in February and I do remember (and have a few old photos of) those lovely old English pillar boxes and telephone boxes! On a snowy, frosty morning the most colour outside were the blue jays and cardinals at the bird feeder - and you can't get much redder than a male cardinal. Tony

Dennis, great capture! Sharp, clear details, colorful! Red is definitely the predominant color in your shot. Quite an interesting slide!

Well-composed, great DOF, and . . . the spot-on focus on the bright red male Cardinal. And the square crop? A bonus!
Yes, indeed, the male Cardinal got all the Red (compared to the female Cardinal). I love seeing them dotting the white snow.

Two iconic red items - it did however strike me as strange that the post box and telephone box should be placed next to one another in the centre of the tourist honeypot of Greenwich. Photocall, anybody?

Very well done, getting them both together. Working telephone boxes are rarer than post boxes now.

Brenda, what a finding! Two iconic red items next to each other. Great capture -- colorful and sharp! I love how you composed your shot with the leading lines (shadows, fence) going across the image.
