bailey, interesting theme and a nice photographic documentation. Thank you, but the photos I posted are not a photographic documentation. The photos I posted are just a random small selection of the photos I took last Monday that I feel fit the "High Wire Act" theme. At best they might give a feel for about half of what occurred on the day. They used a cherry picker at the start for setting up the removal of the tree and the huge stump left in the ground was also removed. I didn't post any of those and other "behind the scenes" photos as they don't fit the theme I chose. The final photographic documentation (a video of animated photos using Premiere Elements) is still a work in progress I am aiming to finish by tomorrow.

Hard Work. It has taken me three sessions over two days to cut my lawn. Another theme - which takes no explaining. It's a dogs life. whippet, you chose two very interesting themes and two great interpretations. If I had to pick one shot? The second one. Dog's life at its best.

I'll go with the theme "Sunshine" as we've not had a lot of it recently but did get some yesterday for a change. These painted turtles were also basking in it to warm up. Tony

I'll go with sculpture. This is called Inversion: Plus Minus
From Wikipedia: "Inversion: Plus Minus (sometimes stylized as Inversion +/-) is a pair of outdoor sculptures designed by artists and architects Annie Han and Daniel Mihalyo, located in southeast Portland, Oregon. The sculptures, constructed from weathered steel angle iron, are sited near the Morrison Bridge and Hawthorne Bridge along Southeast Grand Avenue and represent "ghosts" of former buildings. The installation on Belmont Street emphasizes "negative space" while the sculpture on Hawthorne Street appears as a more solid matrix of metal. According to the artists, the works are reminiscent of industrial buildings that existed on the project sites historically."

Tony Tony, beautiful shot to interpret the Sunshine theme. Great composition -- leading line, reflections, silky water. Place this image on the wall!

On more than one count -- composition, clarity, perspective, B&W conversion. Simply beautiful! Do you have a place on the wall for it?
Thanks for the information on this sculpture! I myself am always interested in the reason for creating such a work of art, i.e., in what the artist(s) had in mind.

Send the rain over here Andy. We haven't had any for three weeks.

Washed OutThese petunias couldn't stand up to the heavy rain storm. Andy, beautiful shot -- colorful, sharp, detailed! I really like the portrait orientation; it enhances the diagonal line created by the petunias.

My theme is abstracts. My goal is to produce an image that has moderate interest to be used to cover a rather bland box on my wall. I merged 2 images - a B&W capture of a textured glass table top, and a twirl of a lego display.

Sepiana: My theme? Couldn't decide if it should be "architecture", "rural landscape" or "outhouses". If the last one, I doubt if there would be many takers.

Great B&W conversion, composition, lighting, DOF. I love the play of light/shadows in your image. Well done!
