I would like a way to scan a 35mm slides and 35mm negatives so that the image resolution is usable in PSE. There may be other posts asking or answering the question, however I could not locate them.

I would like a way to scan a 35mm slides and 35mm negatives so that the image resolution is usable in PSE. There are several methods to scan slides and negatives. The easiest and arguably the best is to not "scan" them at all, but to photograph them. Wolverine has for years made a stand-alone slide/negative "digitizer" that is basically a complete store-bought version of the many home-made slide photographers found in an internet search. I have wanted a Wolverine for years, yet each year, instead of becoming less expensive, they just keep getting higher; even the discontinued older versions bring a premium price on EBay. I was going to provide a link, but Amazon is not cooperating. An internet search will turn up dozens of home-made ways and means of using a camera to accomplish the same thing. There are also home-made gizmos that will allow a plain-Jane scanner to scan them. As for resolution, I believe any of the photographing means would yield the most resolution, either the Wolverine or a home-made contraption, but I have not put this to the test. On EDIT: MajorMajor's link wasn't working for me; I figure this is where it was going: photoshopelementsandmore.com/thread/3385/digitizing-color-negativesPeterJ has some really inventive ideas there.
