My effort turning night into day using layers in On1 [this should work the same in PSE] ... Hi Peter, Yes you can do the same in PSE. The Multiply blending mode is a generally known technique for quickly darkening over exposed jpegs (The opposite applies with Screen blending mode) and so can be used for darkening images for any purpose. But I thought this tute was about fotofrank's method and so I posted some other methods for turning day to night in my Changing Day Scene To Night Scene thread. Also, since there is no one-size-fits-all method for changing day to night because of the infinite number of different effects you can create, this is a list of tutorials on the many ways you can change day to night, depending on the scene and the effect you want.

Sepiana - I can only imagine that this tutorial really change the mode pf the image. The sky adds a lot to this picture. Frank, thanks for the comment! That's the beauty of this tutorial; you can use it in a wide variety of images and get different results.

Frank, this is such a "versatile" tut! It can be used with so many different images. You got a winner here!

Another great take Sepiana. Frank, thanks for the comment! It is all in the tutorial -- simple, effective, and very adaptable to different "takes". Just the way I like it!

It must be easy, if I managed it. Just couldn't get a good light glow, though.

I don't know why the sky has become the colour it has. Maybe because it is Norway. Isn't that where you can see the Northern Lights.
