This certainly wasn't static in it's time, but now sits in the Udvar Hazy branch of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly VA.  |

Massaging the theme just a little, this tree seems to be going nowhere in particular. It seems unable to decide whether it should be horizontal or vertical. Looks as if it got it right in the end!

Dennis, this takes top honors! A tree which cannot make up its mind. I really like the composition -- centering the tree to get our attention and the bonus of light/shadows. Great job! |

Luray Caverns - Luray, VA Thanks, I was also amazed at the details captured with an iPhone pano.
The movement to which I mentioned was the constant dripping of water that forms the amazing structures.

Pete, thanks for feeding my curiosity! You did justice to the beauty of those rock formations.
As a side note -- I was in that part of the country a long time ago (hiking the Appalachian Trail section at Shenandoah NP). I wish I had taken the time to see the natural wonders in those caverns.

Helen, this does fit this theme. Great composition and DOF! I particularly like how you incorporated the human element in your shot. It emphasizes the "Going Nowhere" angle.
