Thanks for the script, Tom. Sometimes I just don't have the patience for following multi-stepped directions....your script enticed me to give this a try . Ran once, duplicated layer and rotated 90 degrees and adjusted blend mode to liking. Then ran script again..... Original:

I understand what you mean about the multiple steps Helen, that was my main misgiving about this particular tut, and the motivation for offering the script.

fotofrank - That's a very clever application of this tutorial. Lots of spiders and I really like the vivid colors.

Thanks Frank for the script. It worked perfectly in PSE 14. The script is from Tom.

Perhaps the most important step in this effect is the cropping choice. The fragment that you crop out shouldn't have any "dead space" and doesn't need to have any symmetry to it; that comes from the subsequent processing. Here is the sequence for another one I did:
Original | After Cropping
| | |
Once you have cropped it to your liking, apply the rotates & flips (or run the script) to get the 4-fold symmetry. After that duplicate the layer and find a blend mode that you like.

Started with some pansies and finished up with more pansies! Used both Darken and Lighter Color blend modes. Tony
