Clive, Thank you for this explanation about editing jpegs in ACR. Very helpful since I shoot jpegs. kdcintx, if you are interested in editing jpegs in the Raw Converter, you may want to check this thread by michelb . It goes hand in hand with Clive's explanation. ACR workflow even with non raw files

Good discussion. And thanks for the "thanks." Good to exchange ideas and I've learned a few things in the past few days. Re: ACR and raw. Bailey made a good point about file sizes. Jpegs out of my new Sony A7III are 10 to 16 MB and the raw files are 48 MB, which is not a huge issue but does add up. I've shot raw for years, but PSE 2018 does not include ACR for the new camera so I am currently shooting XF jpegs. I have the converter and also the Sony raw editing software. But the IQ of the camera jpegs is crazy good (close to no noise even at very high ISOs), so I've not been too worried and happy shooting jpeg again...for now. If I was going to shoot something critical, then I'd shoot raw. I'll upgrade to PSE XX when it is released. Sepaina, thanks for michelb's article ACR workflow with non raw files. Learned something. PSE 11 would only open one jpe at a time. PSE 2018 allows multiple jpegs to be opened at once. Very handy. Thanks, Clive

no problem Clive And that's a pretty decent camera you have. Enjoy and make the most of its high performance.

Clive, you are most welcome! The credit goes to Michel; I just "delivered" the information.

I just stumbled over this video today when looking something else up. If you are still interested in working on the photo, this seems like it could help. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtwV9bWT7RY
