[Hi all. Sorry for being quiet. Been a crazy week.]
In no particular order. Hummmm...interesting that all three are B&W.
The Stage Stop by hmca
Strong composition and BW conversion. Pleasing subject reminiscent of gentler times.
The Pandanus Fruit by jackscrap
Just pleasing. Great tones. The leaves draw toward the fruit.
The Piano by L.A. Turner
Fab conversion. Gentler times. (We have similar dishes.) And who could you not think of "Play it, Sam. Play "As Time Goes By."?
Thanks for your support of the bluebirds. PeteB wrote. "A great capture and also great cutout work. By replacing the background, the subject is isolated. Nice." Thanks Pete....was lucky that two sat by each other for a few seconds. The background is untouched. Just a swathed barley field awaiting baling.

Clive I guess that I may have to reword my critique to "A great capture with a little luck. Nice"

My three favorites... Stage Stop by hmca - Love this! Great photograph of what I regard as "my kind of place." I like the contrasts - both the tonal contrasts of the photo and the contrasts of old and new in the building. Music venues like this have a certain "vibe" to them you just don't get in modern places. I would imagine this structure has heard more than a few Martins and Gibsons being picked over the years. Excellent! Old Masters Painting by blackmutt - Wonderful photograph! Any time I go to an art museum, the first thing I seek out are the Old Master's paintings. You've captured the look and feel of one of those paintings quite nicely, while the well worn table top and the fruit jar give it a simple yet elegant setting. Well done! The Bright Getaway Shack by jackscrap - I like this a lot. A well done photograph of a simple, utilitarian structure that has been allowed to age gracefully. The "painting" effect compliments the subject and composition quite well. Very nice!
And... Thanks for providing this wonderful forum. Lots of very talented and skilled folks here doing some excellent work! Thanks Y'all!

WOW! What a lot of great images to choose from. In no particular order, these are my choices:
1. Two juvenile mountain bluebirds. August 5. Cowley, Alberta by pontiaz1940: Love the soft colors and the gleam in their eyes. Makes me think they are taking a rest-moment out of their hectic new life of frolicking and learning to fly.
2. Cruising the Tracy Arm Fjord by dandc: This is another lovely landscape by dandc. The colors remind me of that wonderful bluey-green color you find in the Rockies or glacier flows. The image has a lovely composition and the lines lead the eye to the distant horizon.
3. C.W. Morgan at Mystic Seaport by L. A. Turner: This is a lovely b/w and the schooner is fantastic! The line of posts leads the eye to the schooner. Well done!

@ Bailey & hmca.
You could be correct, Bailey. I wanted to do a quote elsewhere, and the icon was there. Thank you to you and Helen, for the encouragement. Much appreciated.
