Great fun seeing all the dolly interpretations last week. Let's see what you can do with this picture that I took in Maine last month.

Ritage-
Can't quite see how it relates to the original image (probably my lack of imagination), but extremely cool effect! Bravo!

- Created the composite with a photo I took on Catalina Island, CA. - Applied a Color Lookup adjustment layer. - Applied a texture by Art Cascadea.

Rita....love the shimmering effect.....can't help but wonder how you did it? Helen, It's a four-layer animated .gif I darkened and re-colored a crop from your starter. Selected the lighter wave crests Put them on their own layer and duplicated that layer 3 times On the lowest of these layers I added Noise: Filter-Noise- Add Noise, Uniform, Monochromatic, 25% On the following 3 layers, did the same with the percentage raised by 1% over each previous one Added the merman simply to offset the glitter
The animation would depend on the version of PSE or PS
There are many tuts on U-Tube for this sort of thing under Glitter or mostly Glitter Text. They usually use Patterns instead of the Noise Filter.
I just happened to be looking for an image with easy to select highlights because I was trying to recall how to do this, possibly for e-Christmas Cards, and there were the beautiful wave crests of your starter. So I took advantage. I had not even meant to post it, but then I thought it might be of interest. Of course, Major Major is quite right that it has nothing to do with anything

Pete.....love the way you've changed the season....great idea!
Rita......love that your interest goes in such a different direction than mine. I am so frequently blown away by your creations and that you have the creative talent to know when and how to use these techniques. Thank you so much for the explanation.....and I'm happy this image proved to be a good source for the technique you wanted to try.
