One more - this time starting with Rita.jpg - this is one of those fun projects that you can just keep clicking away and finish up not having a clue what you did to get there. I find it interesting how almost all the blend modes give a different and interesting result. I think I used about 4 different ones doing this I did finish up adding a Jodi frame layer style to cover up the white border. Tony

Another thing to try is to add a bevel to one of the layers, it is so much fun. Looks nice with the frame Tony thanks for taking part.

Well......I've had a bit more of a play with this. But this type of art is definitely not my strong suite After trying different rotations of layers and blending modes I have at least come up with something I can live with.

Sepiana Thanks for taking part. I love both your results and the added texture and Poster Edges filter on the second one adds that extra little something. Bailey Thank you for persevering and producing something you 'can live' with... I could live with that one too…

Beautiful Variations, everyone. Lillias alone worked out all the possibilities. My only contribution was to point out the peculiar way the Pinch Filter works.
I didn't join on this thread because I'm not quite well enough at the moment to spend much time sitting at the computer.

Very interesting effect. When I stare at it, it seems to move.

kdcintx, thanks! I believe the "move" effect comes from the custom shape I used -- Registration Target 2. I had three custom shape layers, each filled with a different color -- Red, Green, and Blue. Then, I rotated them.
BTW, I made a mistake in my earlier post. I called this custom shape . . . Destination Target.

For these I have used bevels, high inner shadow, shadows and HSL adjustments. The first one started off with a shape I made myself – The second one started off with the star shape from the Symbols section of the Custom Shape tools. At one stage on the second one I also used the Pinch filter in negative mode which gives more of a spherical effect. I just kept experimenting with different layers twisting and turning and trying this and that till I ended up with what you see here.
