Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. - Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

Another sign of spring - a pair of tundra swans passing through on the way to the arctic. And on the ground another pair are sizing each other up ... Tony

Staying with Tony's avian theme. Canada geese, Coaldale, March 19, 2019. You can see there is still ice on the pond. Perhaps a bit deceiving because it was 15°C here today with sun and no wind. It's called Spring of Deception. We are far from the end of winter. A pair of geese, and one goose and its phantom image.

A pair of - cooling towers.
A pair - of goal posts. Unfortunately I could not line them up as I wanted, as this was the only gap in the hedge.

whippet Are the cooling towers for industrial cooling or electrical generation cooling? (Nuclear or ??) I remember seeing such towers for the first time way back when I was about 8 or so....way back. The towers have a neat shape. Clive

Industrial cooling, Clive. There are quite a few more scattered about the site. You may find this interesting reading. I.C.I.Some years ago, ICI sold up in this country. Billingham was their first, and biggest factory.

A paradox. Oh, sorry, a pair of ducks. Note: I went back to these photos this evening and noticed something very fake looking in this photo. The male looks as though he was Photoshopped onto the pond ice. Just the way the reflected light hits the front and belly of the duck.
