I need to solve a little problem. I thought nobody had commented on my question because I didn't receive any email notifications, which is what usually happens. So I went directly to my thread and I now see more than half a dozen helping comments. I went to my profile and the notification page - as far as I can recall I hadn't changed anything there. But just to be sure... please tell me which choices would ensure getting email notifications when someone comments on my thread.

Paul, this setting should take care of it.

Thanks Sepiana,
But it's already checked for instant notification. Did I already have it checked when you looked at it? Or did you check it? At any rate I didn't receive an email notifying your most recent post.
The mystery deepens....
Paul

I didn't make any changes. Even we, Administrators, cannot see your Notification settings.
It looks like there is a problem with notification e-mails. I haven't received any since yesterday although everything is the way I had set (saved) in my profile.
UPDATE:
I have just checked with ProBoards Support. They confirmed they are having a problem; this began over the weekend. They are working on it and hope to have a solution soon.

Thanks, Sepiana. With your help I'm sure they'll get it fixed! By the way, this part of my message was poorly worded:
I didn't receive any email notifications, which is what usually happens. What usually happens is that I am notified, that's what I meant to say. But I guess you understood my crazy syntax! Paul

Paul, ProBoards Support came through; the problem has been solved. As of this writing, notification e-mails are up and running again.
