HELP. on mac os (high sierra) i have PSE 15, I have many $$ actions i bought since being on PSE 3 . I FINALLY found my back up of actions and through the evolution of PSE , there have been many different ways to import, or put .atn files. some have needed .xlm file, .jpg, or .png file along with .atn file. i have most .png files that go w/ my .atn file. and i have tried to import my actions to PSE 15, but i'm getting this generic picture of the action. I had to rename all my actions giving credit to the creator by putting it at the end. sadly, i can't upload a picture via this medium - i have to have it uploaded in another place.e
anyway - any help would be greatly appreciated. digitally scrapbooking since 2006 - Ami

Hi Ami, welcome to PSE&M! Glad to have you here. It looks like you are loading the action (.atn file) via the Effects panel (Window>Effects>Load Effects). There have been reports that sometimes Elements fails to display the action’s original thumbnail and, instead, displays a generic thumbnail.
The ThumbDatabase.db3 file "caters" to the Effects panel. i.e., it generates the thumbnails for this panel. Sometimes this database gets corrupted and that's when you have problems with the thumbnails (such as generic thumbnails being displayed). The usual solution is to delete this database to force Elements to generate the correct thumbnails in the Effects panel.
I am not a Mac user. Hopefully this is the path you need to navigate: Macintosh HD>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>x.x>. . .
NOTE: Make sure Elements is closed when you delete this file.

The path on a Mac is from the Library folder in your USER folder
HD>User>your user folder>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Adobe Photoshop Elements "XX">Presets>actions
When you open elements, you can go to Windows>Actions. When that opens you can click on the drop down menu and select Import Actions. You can no find the actions you want to import. The Windows>action only list the actions and the folders they are in.
