I'm struggling with something very basic -
I have my image in PSE 14. I've also opened a second image, made a selection of the contents of the bowl (of pet food), and now want to place it in the first image, to replace the current contents (ie wet food instead of meal worms)
For some reason, which eludes me at the moment, I can't move the 'wet food' to position on top of the meal worms. I can't seem to be able to get the 'grab handles' in order to achieve this.
I've done this so many times but I'm totally stumped today.
I've saved the second image as png file Close all down Rebooted PC and re-started PSE
I see what I've not done - can someone please enlighten me ... Many thanks

It looks like you need to select "Food bowl 2" layer in the Layers panel.

Looking at your screenshot , I think you have to unlock your layers for this to work, Julie. And then as Andrei said make sure you have Food Bowl 2 layer selected.

I don't see that the layer is locked. Am I missing something?

In addition, you need to use the Move Tool. In the screen shot it is the Hand Tool that is active.

OOOOPS....my mistake then about the locked layers. I had wondered about the hand, Rita. Good point!

Thanks very much folks as a result of your comments, I've realised what I hadn't done!!! Doh!!!  Rita - You're absolutely spot on!!! "In addition, you need to use the Move Tool. In the screen shot it is the Hand Tool that is active." I didn't think to change to the Move Tool Doh!!! I knew it had to be something very basic, eh? Andrew - Yes, I agree, although while I was trying to do this, I did have that layer selected. It just got changed by when I took the screen shot. I should have checked the shot was just as I'd been working  hmca - I had thought I'd unlocked the layers, had they been locked in the first place. Sepiana - Don't think you missed locked layers I'm obviously rather 'rusty' just now. I haven't done much in PSE for a while and my memory isn't good either, these days. Thought I was completely losing my marbles!!! ;( Thanks very much, all of you. I now have the 'finished' image. Meal worms are not good for hedgehogs as main food as they have absolutely no nutrients etc so hedgehogs can actually become very deficient and, consequently, ill as a result. This image is for a brochure, hence not good showing a bowl of meal worms, eh? Improvement but not perfect (meat out of proportion)  |
