This has recently appeared on the River Tees. Does anyone know what sort of craft it is - apart from being a wreck.

It might (stress, might) be a barge for construction works such as driving pilings into the river bed for a new bridge or some sort of dock structure. Interesting.

Thank you both. Seeing the state of it, I thought it may be due for scrapping.
I haven't taken a look at your links yet, Tony. But that is where it is - Middlesbrough. I shall have a look now.
What you both said, made me remember that plans are being made to build another bridge over the Tees, about a mile up river from there.
Edit. Just taken a look. They say it is at the Able UK quay. I didn't know Able had one there. I put a photo on here recently, of an oil rig. That is at Able - and is right at the mouth of the Tees. So maybe the Samba usually lives at that depot.
