Almost all photographic images have some noise and most methods used for removing this noise results in slightly blurring the image. Of course using a high ISO to capture a noisy image in low light is preferable to no image at all. Stacking images in a layer based program leverages the fact the image noise is random in nature. Planning a capture sequence is such cases can result in a sharp image with much reduced noise by using image stacking.
Caveat..image stacking is not going to help if your subject is moving
