I'd like to open multiple images (120) as layers using PSE 18 with Elements+ installed. After opening I want to change all the layers to blending mode lighten. Maybe I'm missing something obvious but can't seem to discover how.

I found an alternative solution using GIMP - a free photo editor. The option is found in the file menu - "open as layers" which enabled me to open all 130 files as layers; but I had to manually change the blend mode to lighten on all.
Here's the results of my test creating star trails with a bridge camera. I used the built in intervalometer set for 7 sec intervals of 3.2 second exposures.

Thanks ... I don't believe starstax has the capability to change blending modes

Just got a message from the dev about Elements+ for PSE 11 Mac. One of the new features is called "Star Trails". More info.

I found an alternative solution using GIMP - a free photo editor. I use GIMP all the time. I don't know anything about star trails; what I do know is that I can drag/drop GIMP layers onto PS Elements layer stacks and vice versa if that will help you any. Carry on.

Using PSE with Elements+ installed is super easy. No image selected choose Elements+ Scripts, run star trails script, point it to the images and they're all added as layers with the opacity changed to lighten. Nice and simple way to import hundreds of images into a layer stack.

Elements+ sounds great. Is it available for a mac running Lightroom 6 and Elements 2020?

The short answer: yes!
Grab a copy of the demo, and if you like what you see it is $12 for the full version.
