Thanks whippet. Looks like we all love orchids. I think we had a run of orchid photos a while ago on the "match" game. I've not been out for a couple of days so no bird photos ... I can't go two days in a row and NOT take a photo. There are five orchids in the kitchen bay window. So I took a few photos and (inspired by hmca) played with this one...isolated the three front flowers which were put into a new layer and the background was then blurred and texturized.

Another exotic flower - couldn't remember the name but Google reverse image search nailed it .. Heliconia rostrata or more commonly Hanging Lobster Claw

Thank you Helen. About ten minutes from our summer place development is a small, sleepy, foothills town called Cowley ... population ~220. A lady in town has a large yard and the most amazing rose variety collection! She has varieties from all over and been to England a couple of times just to see gardens and she has bought (certified) plants from there. She had an open house in 2018 and we went and I took photos. Roses are quite tender and growing them here "Under the Arch" is difficult because of extreme fluctuating winter temps from bitter cold to days of well-above freezing because of the Chinook winds which bring warm air from the Pacific. "Under the Arch" refers to Chinook Arches, high-wind cloud formations. I have posted Chinook arch photos here.
