I'll match with a pedestrian bridge and if you look very carefully you'll see a pelican in the foreground.

Glad you noted the brown pelican Helen. I have mixed feelings about pelicans: they are cool birds and fly so gracefully but they eat a lot of trout in our trout streams. A pair of white pelicans across the road, May 1, 2019. They will show up again in ~ 4 weeks.

Australian pelicans don't have that bump on their bills, is that a permanent thing or does it signify their gender? It is a signal of breeding interest (in spring) in adults and as far as I know both males and females develop the bump. It is seasonal only for a few weeks..do not see it in summer. This is not a "Let's play the match game!" submission..just for laughs!

Pelicans don't usually come this far East in Canada but a couple did stop by last fall much to the delight of local birders - I missed them so you'll have to make do with a collection of gulls and some choppy water. Tony

HA HA! These are great! This is a juvenile mountain bluebird a few years ago in our bird bath at the summer place.
