Tundra Swan, Cygnus columbianus, Coaldale, Alberta. October 31, 2019. This lone swan was hanging out with a few Canada geese today. And, yes, that is ice. (We've been here 20 years and I have never seen the ponds freeze over so early..and it is probably permanent until spring now! Been ridiculously cold here for weeks and well well below average temperatures.)
